Quick Start Guide to IDLA Site Coordination
The information in this lesson is supplied to provide you with a general understanding of IDLA's role in your school, as well as items each local district is responsible for and information associated wtih IDLA.

- know what IDLA can offer to your school.
- clarify your role as a Site Coordinator.
- navigate to the IDLA course catalog and understand different course offerings.
- identify resources and where to go for help.
Key Terms
- asynchronous - events not happening at the same time. When applied to our coursework it means that the student and teacher do not have to be online at the same time/day to attend class.
- Advanced Opportunities - funding available for students to participate in dual credit, technical competency credit, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, or overload courses.
- cohort - course format with a set start and end date.
- flex - course format offering open enrollment and adjustable pacing.
- hybrid - course format that combines a cohort class with two days of live instruction.
- LMS - Learning Management System, or platform used to deliver online courses. (Examples: Schoology, Blackboard, Buzz)
- orientation - required online course for any new student, or any student taking a class in a different program/LMS.
- synchronous - events happening at the same time. When applied to our coursework, it would be a live session, as in our hybrid class, or tutoring.
- TheSIS - the Idaho Digital Learning Student Information System where Site Coordinators will register students and monitor progress.
