Welcome to Idaho Digital Learning Course Orientation

On these pages you will find links to all of the lessons students are provided during Orientation in both Blackboard and Schoology. Please be aware that Orientation is an actual course that students take and the following lessons are just the "textbook" of that course. Some lessons will refer to parts of the course and activities that you will not have access to outside of the actual online classroom.

 

Blackboard Orientation

Welcome Announcement welcomes students to Orientation and shows them where to go to get started.

 

Unit 1: Ready, Set, Go

Unit 1 Introduction is a summary lesson of what students will learn in unit 1.

Getting Around teaches where to find everything in an Idaho Digital Learning online classroom.

Getting The Right Tools makes sure students have all the technology they need to be ready for their online class.

Getting It Done shows students how to complete assignments and test and how submit them to their teacher.

Getting Heard describes student opportunities for collaboration using tools like discussion boards, wikis, blogs and voice discussions.

 

Unit 2: Get a Gold Star

Unit 2 Introduction is a summary lesson of what students will learn in unit 2.

Getting Help gives direction on where to find help when questions arise.

Getting the Grade shows how students check their grades, find teacher feedback and read a progress report.

Getting the Rules goes over the rules, rights and responsibilities students have at Idaho Digital Learning.

Let's Do This! gives some tips for online student success.

 

Schoology Orientation

Course Lessons

Getting Started in Schoology provides students basic navigation and a Schoology overview.

Student Portals Activity helps students understand how to use portals to access courses and tools.

The Homepage provides information on how the students can use their homepage or the page they will land on each time they log into Schoology.

Getting the Right Tools makes sure students have all the technology they need to be ready for their online class.

Course Materials: Assignments, Discussions, and Links helps students understand these features of the Schoology interface.

Chromebook & Google Drive Users provides a video to show students how to install the Google Drive Resource App and then submit assignments using this tool if desired.

Screenshots of Your Work provides step-by-step directions for taking a screenshot on various devices.

Getting Help gives direction on where to find help when questions arise.

Contacting Tech Support provides students an interactive way to practice getting help if they need it.

Updates explains how teachers will send students announcements each week.

Course Grades & Teacher Feedback shows how students check their grades, find teacher feedback and view their overall course grade.

What's Your Progress explains how students can read the progress report that is emailed out after each unit is due.
