This sign tells drivers to YIELD if a train is approaching.

Stop behind the stop line and wait for the train to pass.

No stop line?? Stop at least 15 feet from the first rail.

You must STOP when these signal lights begin to flash and may not proceed until the lights stop flashing and the tracks are clear.

Flashing lights or lowering gates mean a train is approaching.

Stop behind the stop line and do not proceed until the gates go completely up and the lights go off.

It is illegal to go around lowered gates.

Every railroad crossing in the USA is identified with a unique crossing number which is displayed on the ENS sign. Next time you are at a railroad crossing, see if you can locate the ENS sign!
